IFA launches special telephone company for farmers

The Irish Farmers Association has announced plans to establish its own telephone company for the association's 85,000 members.

IFA Telecom said its planned to offer the lowest rates possible for domestic and business calls within Ireland and abroad.

Pat Smith, the IFA's director of operations, said: "We will take the confusion out of the marketplace for the farming community in acting as honest broker and delivering our own tariffs based upon the research that we do.

"We can assure our members that they're getting best value. There's no frills, no gimmicks, no freebies, just the cheapest call rates we can possible deliver to our members."
