US police investigate Irishman's murder
Police in the United States are investigating the murder of a 27-year-old Irishman in Chicago on Saturday morning.
Dubliner Barry Cunnane, an aspiring actor, was shot in the back of the head as he was walking with a friend in the Ravenswood area of Chicago's north-west side.
Local police said Mr Cunnane was approached by two strangers, one of whom produced a handgun and shot the victim.
Detectives said they had no motive for the murder, which happened in a quiet area and appeared to be unprovoked.
Mr Cunnane moved to Chicago eight years ago and was working for the American Medical Association.
His parents have travelled to the city to make arrangements for the return of their son's body.
