Suspected SARS case in northwest
The Northwestern Health Board says a patient has been isolated since the weekend with symptoms similar to the World Health Organisation's definition of the SARS virus.
It is refusing to confirm however, whether the person is being treated at Letterkenny General Hospital.
The CEO of the board Pat Harvey said that expert medical advice suggests the patient is unlikely to have SARS.
Striking public health doctors came off the picket line at the weekend to advise the board.
The board says the patient is in a comfortable position.
