Boat and crew rescued off the south west coast

Rescue services in the south west brought in a boat and three crew members after they got in trouble this morning.

The fishing trawler called the "Downhunter" was brought to safety with the three crew.

The boat was making its way from Durseysound and came into trouble at around 8.30am. It is understood that a length of rope became tangled in the trawler's propellers.

A local lifeboat from the South West station brought the crew to safety and the boat was towed to Castletownbere harbour.
