Cross-border safety initiative launched

Health and safety officials in the North and the Republic have launched a cross-border campaign aimed at reducing the number of deaths in the construction industry.

Figures shows 220 Irish workers died in accidents on building sites between 1993 and 2002, the majority of them in the Republic.
