Green anger at incinerator funding

The Green Party is fuming over the decision to fund an incineration project with proceeds from the plastic bags levy.

Nearly €850,000 - 10% of the Environment Fund - has been given to the company building the facility at Dublin's Ringsend.

Green Party leader Trevor Sergeant said tonight that the move was a "blatant raid on money which was never intended for such use".
