Garda probe after body found in bog

A garda investigation is underway in Co Offaly after human remains were found in a bog near Tullamore.

The body parts were found by a man who was working in the bog yesterday afternoon.

The scene has been preserved for forsensic examination and State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy will carry out a post mortem on the body later today.

However, it is thought that the body has been in the bog for quite some time.
