Pensioners recovering after Co Down attacks

Two pensioners are recovering after being attacked in Banbridge in the Co Down area overnight.

A 72-year-old man was attacked after three men entered his home at 12.30am.

The raiders escaped, having ransacked the house, with an undisclosed sum of cash.

Later, a gang forced their way into the home of a 78-year-old woman on the Lisnaree road.

The gang held the elderly women down with a blanket while they searched her home for cash.
