Taoiseach criticises Trimble

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has sharply criticised Ulster Unionist Party leader David Trimble's attitude to the Irish peace process.

Speaking in Dublin, Mr Ahern said Mr Trimble's reluctance to commit himself to sharing power with Sinn Fein was one of the main reasons why recent efforts to restore Northern Assembly and power-sharing Executive failed.
