The Irish Nurses Organisation has warned that its members may engage in industrial action if cutbacks in the health service continue unabated.

The organisation held an emergency debate on the cuts yesterday after learning that James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Dublin was planning to cancel all elective admissions from today and seriously curtail its accident and emergency services.
