Irish aid due to arrive in Iraq today

An Irish convoy carrying medical supplies and equipment is due to arrive in Iraq this afternoon.

The relief supplies, partly funded by the Irish aid agency Trocaire, departed from Jordan last night.

Eamon Meehan from Trocaire says that although the war is over, the situation in Iraq remains far from stable.
