The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is meeting organisers of the Special Olympics today to discuss the possible SARS threat posed by athletes travelling from regions affected by the virus.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is meeting organisers of the Special Olympics today to discuss the possible SARS threat posed by athletes travelling from regions affected by the virus.

In a statement released to the media, Mr Ahern said he was working with the organisers and the World Health Organisation to ensure that appropriate measures were in place for the games, which are due to take place in Ireland next month.
