Two arrested in connection with McGuinness phone tap leaks
Police in the North have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the leaking of transcripts of bugged telephone conversations between Sinn Féin's Martin McGuinness and British officials.
Yesterday, a 48-year-old former RUC Special Branch officer was arrested in connection with the leaks, which Sinn Féin said were designed to undermine the peace process.
The party has also lodged an official complaint with the British government over the bugging of Mr McGuinness' private telephone line.
The transcripts, which were published in a Northern newspaper yesterday, included conversations between Mr McGuinness and former Northern Secretary Mo Mowlam.
