A newspaper in the North has revealed that the British security services bugged private telephone calls between Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness and British officials between 1999 and 2001.

The bugged calls included conversations with former Northern Secretary Mo Mowlam and Jonathan Powell, Tony Blair's head of staff.
