Opposition seeks explanation of SARS fiasco

Fine Gael has called on Health Minister Micheal Martin to explain why he announced publicly that a woman being treated as a probable case of SARS had been given the all-clear.

Mr Martin announced on Wednesday that the Chinese woman did not have severe acute respiratory syndrome, but it emerged last night that doctors have reported her case as a probable SARS infection.
