The British government has announced the appointment of a group tasked with finding an alternative to the controversial 11-plus exam in the North.

Jane Kennedy, the British minister responsible for education due to the suspension of the Northern Assembly, announced the move today.

Ms Kennedy said the group is due to report back in October with recommendations for the future of post-primary education.
