Bertie Ahern and Tony Blair were due to make a critical judgment call today on whether they should unveil their proposals for moving the Northern Ireland peace process forward.

After a night of frantic diplomatic activity involving governments and parties in Belfast, London and Dublin, the two leaders were still hoping to travel to Northern Ireland to reveal their blueprint for implementing the Good Friday Agreement in full.
