Cowen says UN must play central role

Foreign Affairs Minister Brian Cowen has joined other European politicians in demanding that the United Nations play a central role in any reconstruction of Iraq.

Mr Cowen said he will be making it clear to US Secretary of State Colin Powell that the UN must be at the centre of post-war plans.
