A German firm which manufactures sound-proofing materials for the automotive industry has announced plans to lay off 80 workers at its plant in Waterford.

A German firm which manufactures sound-proofing materials for the automotive industry has announced plans to lay off 80 workers at its plant in Waterford.

The news, which comes on top of 25 redundancies in late 2001, was broken to staff at the HP Chemie Pelzer factory last night.
