Dublin shooting: post mortem due later today
The State Pathologist is due to carry out a full post-mortem on the body of a man found in a field in north Dublin yesterday afternoon.
Gardai said 26-year-old Charles Merriman appeared to have suffered a single gunshot wound to the rear of his head in a gangland-style killing.
They also believe that he was shot elsewhere before being dumped at the entrance to the field between Ballymun and Dublin Airport.
Mr Merriman's body was found by US tourists on St Margaret's Road in Ballymun at around midday yesterday.
