Armagh violence leads to watchtower calls

The UUP says any move to dismantle British military installations in South Armagh would be premature.

The comments from Assemblyman Danny Kennedy come after today's shootings in Culloville.

One man, believed to be from Co Louth, was killed, with two others sustaining gunshot wounds.

Mr Kennedy states security in South Armagh must be maintained: "There is considerable concern about the evident lawlessness being witnessed in South Armagh at present.

"The information to hand at this point would indicate this incident is related to previous incidents connected to paramilitary organisations. Any move to make changes to the watchtowers at this point would be premature."
