Man charged with attempted murder in Belfast

Police in the North have charged a man with attempted murder in connection with a hammer attack on a businessmen in south Belfast on Sunday morning.

The victim is still in a critical condition after being beaten with a hammer in his home in the affluent Malone area.

A man arrested in connection with the attack is due in court later today charged with attempted murder, aggravated burglary, assault and several other offences.

The charges relate to two attacks in the Malone area on Sunday morning.
