McMahon to give evidence at Morris Tribunal

The woman whose allegations form a central part of investigations into garda corruption in Donegal is due to give evidence to the Morris Tribunal later today.

Sheenagh McMahon has claimed that her ex-husband, Detective Noel McMahon, along with Superintendent Kevin Lennon and a garda informer, staged explosives finds in the early 1990s to further their own careers.

Mrs McMahon will begin her evidence after Superintendent Lennon completes his cross-examination of Superintendent Tom Long, to whom Mrs McMahon originally made her allegations.

Superintendent Lennon is currently representing himself at the tribunal while the High Court assesses his application for the State to cover his legal costs.
