Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams has met with Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble prior to the pair's departure to the United States for this year's St Patrick's Day celebrations.

Martin McGuinness is also due to meet senior Ulster Unionists for more talks later this afternoon as efforts to break the current deadlock in the peace process continue.
