Man was shot in Belfast while sleeping

It has been revealed that the man who was shot dead in the North overnight was sleeping in his bed at the time of the attack.

Two masked gunmen smashed their way into a flat at a house on Brookcale avenue in the Antrim road area of North Belfast.

The incident happened shortly before 3 o'clock this morning. The 39-year-old victim was shot in his bedroom.

A spokesman for the PSNI says the shooting is not believed to be sectarian of paramilitary related.
