Elderly people targeted by Northern burglars
Police in the North are investigating three separate overnight burglaries targeting elderly people in Belfast, Derry and Tyrone.
The most violent incident happened in south Belfast, when a pensioner was beaten about the head in the entrance hall to a block of flats on Lisburn Road.
The man's attacker, believed to be in his 40s, made off with the victim's wallet, which contained a small sum of cash.
Two elderly disabled residents of a sheltered housing development in Dungiven, Co Derry, were also robbed of a sum of cash by at least two men and a woman who entered the building last night.
