Garda appeal to catch burglars
Gardaí in Dublin are seeking the public's help in tracing two men who burgled a pensioner's flat in Rathmines area last night after attempting to rob another pensioner in Crumlin earlier in the evening.
The two men, who were in their 20s or 30s and around 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 9 inches in height, called to the home of an 81-year-old woman in Windmill Road, Crumlin, at around 3.45pm yesterday and demanded money, but the pair fled the scene empty-handed after gardaí were alerted.
Just over an hour later, another two men fitting the same description called to an 80-year-old woman's flat in Maxwell Court, Rathmines, and stole small amount of cash and the lady's pension book after searching the kitchen area.
Gardaí said both men wore blue check shirts, were clean shaven and may have spoken with "country" accents.
