The Labour Party has accused Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy of continuing economic mismanagement after figures released yesterday showed a widening of the gap between tax receipts and public spending.

Party spokesperson Joan Burton said mass redundancies in recent months, coupled with Mr McCreevy's poor decisions, have created a gaping hole in the public purse.
