Gardaí name mother and son crash victims

Gardaí have named the mother and son who died in a road accident near Castlebar in Co Mayo last night.

33-year-old Geraldine Neary and her nine-year-old son Gerard died when their car collided with a van at Ballyheane at around 9pm.

Four men also died in three separate overnight accidents in counties Tipperary, Monaghan and Donegal, but their names will not be released until all next of kin have been informed.
