The Irish public may soon face a new set of environment levies inspired by the success of the plastic bag tax introduced here last year.

According to reports in the Sunday Tribune, Environment Minister Martin Cullen is considering levies on "nuisance" waste such as ATM receipts, plastic bottles and chewing gum.
