The Fine Gael spokesman on Transport says Irish Rail should start work immediately on building a permanent rail link to Dublin airport.

Denis Naughten says a train from the city centre could go ahead before a planned metro for other parts of Dublin is started.

He says such a route, costing €900m, would be a fraction of the total bill.
