An influential US committee has called for the full implementation of the Good Friday Agreement and a real, total and permanent concession of all paramilitary activity in Northern Ireland.

An influential US committee has called for the full implementation of the Good Friday Agreement and a real, total and permanent concession of all paramilitary activity in Northern Ireland.

The National Committee on American Foreign Policy is proposing the setting up of an international peace commission to monitor the agreement.

It is suggesting George Mitchell, Chris Patten and other international figures as potential members.
