NSC disappointed with response to 'speeding ministers' issue

The National Safety Council has expressed deep disappointment with the Garda Commissioner's view that gardai driving Government ministers can break the speed limit at their discretion.

The council wrote to Pat Byrne seeking clarification of the issue after several ministers and TDs, including the Taoiseach, were accused of setting a bad example by speeding around the country.
