The National Disease Surveillance Centre has reported a 90% reduction in cases of group C meningitis and septicemia following the introduction of a vaccine against the diseases more than two years ago.

The National Disease Surveillance Centre has reported a 90% reduction in cases of group C meningitis and septicemia following the introduction of a vaccine against the diseases more than two years ago.

The centre said no Irish people died from group C meningitis last year, compared to 11 in the year 2000.
