CORI supports proposed social partnership deal
The Conference of Religious in Ireland has expressed its support for the proposed partnership deal negotiated by the social pillars during talks earlier this year.
CORI said the Sustaining Progress deal, although modest, represents an improvement in standards for the poor and under-privileged.
Spokesman Fr Sean Healy said: "Despite the fact that it's a very modest agreement, we're concluding that, on balance, Ireland's poorest and most excluded people would be better served with this agreement in place."
