Teenager attacked with sledgehammers

A 16-year-old youth is recovering in hospital after he was attacked by a masked group in Co Louth last night.

He was set upon in the O'Hanlon Park area of Dundalk at about 10pm by a number of men armed with pick axe handles and sledgehammers.

The young man had to be taken to hospital for treatment for leg injuries.
