A Monaghan man who was arrested by detectives investigating the Omagh bombing was today charged in the Special Criminal Court in Dublin with membership of an unlawful organisation, the IRA.

A Monaghan man who was arrested by detectives investigating the Omagh bombing was today charged in the Special Criminal Court in Dublin with membership of an unlawful organisation, the IRA.

Seamus Daly, aged 32, of Kilmurray, Culloville, Castleblaney is charged that between April 29 1998 and November 20 2000, both date inclusive, within the State he was a member of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Oglaigh na hEireann otherwise the IRA, contrary to the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
