Man arrested in connection with Omagh bombing

A man was today arrested in connection with the Omagh bombing, gardai said.

Seamus Daly, 32, was arrested in Monaghan and is due to appear at Dublin’s Special Criminal Court tomorrow.

A Garda spokesman said he was arrested in connection with “investigations into the bombing or matters arising from it“.

Daly, from Co Monaghan, was detained at Carrickmacross Garda Station in Monaghan.

He was arrested after a warrant was issued by the Special Criminal Court.
