Figures show 82% rise in exhaust emissions

Greenhouse gas emissions from vehicle exhausts increased by 82% between 1994 and 2000, according to figures released by the Central Statistics Office.

The figures also showed that the number of vehicles on Ireland's roads increased by 40% during the same period.
