62% of voters dissatisfied with Govt

Sixty-two percent of Irish voters are dissatisfied with the Government's performance, according to a new MRBI opinion poll.

Support for Fianna Fáil has fallen by 4% to 32%, according to the poll in today's Irish Times, while Fine Gael's support is at 22%, an increase of 3%.

Support for Labour is at 16%, an increase of 2%. The Progressive Democrats' support has risen by 1% to 6%, the Green Party's has fallen 2% to 6%, while Sinn Féin's support has remained steady at 9%.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, meanwhile, has seen his personal popularity rating fall 1% to 43%, while Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny's popularity is down 3% to 29%.

The Tánaiste, Mary Harney, and Green Party leader Trevor Sergeant have both seen 7% falls in their popularity ratings, while Pat Rabbitte's support was put at 44% in his first poll as Labour Party leader.
