Illegal oil-laundering plant found in Co Louth
Customs officers in Co Louth have discovered an illegal oil-laundering plant near the town of Inniskeen.
80,000 litres of oil in various stages of washing was found at the plant, along with a number of vehicles.
Environmental experts have been called to examine the scene.
Nobody was arrested in connection with the discovery, but Gardai said they are following a definite line of inquiry.
The illegal plant had the capacity to launder 50,000 litres of oil each day.
