Artic conditions continue in North
Almost 10% of the Northern Ireland Roads Service gritting budget has been spent over the past two nights to keep roads open during blizzards, it emerged today.
As the North faced a second day of traffic and school closures because of Arctic conditions, Andrew Murray of the Roads Service said almost £400,000 (€608,000) had been spent keeping main roads open.
"We have all the information but the one thing that is most difficult to predict is where snow is going to fall and when it is going to fall,” he said.
