Man dies after Louth assault

Gardaí are investigating the death of a 28-year-old man at Elmwood, Drogheda in Co Louth.

Three men entered a house at Elmwood, Drogheda and attacked a 28-year-old man with wooden handles, causing him serious injuries.

He was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The scene at Elmwood is being preserved and Gardai from Drogheda have launched a full investigation.
