Martin to ban smoking in pubs and restaurants

Health Minister Micheal Martin has announced plans to ban smoking in all workplaces, including pubs and restaurants, from next January.

Mr Martin made the announcement at the launch of a report which said passive smoking increases the risk of heart disease and lung cancer among non-smokers by 20%.
