EU set to approve 'free-to-air' sports list

The Government has moved a step closer to protecting the right to broadcasting sporting events of national importance on free-to-air terrestrial television.

The Minister for Communications Dermot Ahern has told the Dail he expects the list of designated events to be approved by the European Union tomorrow.
