Woman arrested after attack on US Navy plane

Gardai in Co Clare have arrested a 50-year-old woman in connection with an alleged attack on a US Navy plane in Shannon Airport this morning.

The woman, a member of the Shannon Peace Camp, was arrested shortly after 6am on suspicion of causing criminal damage and can be held for up to 12 hours.

The nose of the C-40 military plane was allegedly damaged in the incident. A male peace activist, Eoin Dubsky, from Co Wexford, is already facing criminal damage charges in connection with the spray-painting of slogans on a US Air Force in Shannon Airport last year.
