Foster leaves Mountjoy

Australian con-man Peter Foster has left Mountjoy prison.

At 11am an immigration van drew up at the jail to collect Foster.

The red transit van with blacked out windows waited outside for half an hour as Foster passed through prison reception and had his belongings returned to him.

At 11.30am the van left the prison and headed towards Dublin Airport.

A prison spokesman said Foster had spent the night in the prison’s main C2 wing, as all holding cells were full.
