Tanker detained at Dublin Port
Officials at Dublin Port have detained a tanker registered in the Comoros Islands after it was found to have 38 deficiencies, including a breakdown of the onboard International Safety Management system.
The single-hull Anastasios IV, weighing more than 2.5 tonnes, was inspected last Thursday because it was on a European Union black-list of ships drawn up following the Prestige oil spill off the coast of Spain last year.
As well as the broken down ISM system, the inspectors also found a defective fire detection system, a defective emergency fire pump, dirty accommodation and a lack of up-to-date navigation charts and publications.
