Dana: Loss of airline service a 'major blow'
MEP for Connaught-Ulster, Dana Rosemary Scallon, says the loss of the EuroCeltic airline service is a "major blow" to Donegal and Sligo.
The regional airline had it's operating licence revoked by the UK civil aviation authority resulting in the loss of 120 jobs.
Air commuters from Donegal, Sligo and Waterford to Dublin are now left without a vital link to the capital.
The move follows an admission by the Tanaiste, Mary Harney, that Connaught/Ulster's attractiveness to industry had been badly effected by a poor road infrastructure.
