Man is shot in paramilitary style attack

A 55-year-old man was shot in the leg in a paramilitary-style attack while walking his dog.

The victim was in the Bowtown estate in Newtownards, Co Down, at around 9pm yesterday, when he was approached by four masked men.

They forced the man to the ground before shooting him. The man was treated in hospital.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the attack to contact them.
